Nevada County Fair begins today!!!
 

Head on up to the Nevada County Fairgrounds for one of the best fairs in the area! Some of the most beautiful fairgrounds in the state this week plays host to an assortment of good ol’ fashion fun! You have got to come out and see what the whole county and surrounding areas  waits all year to experience!

We have five days of excitement and fun planned for Fair-goers of all ages. The Nevada County Fair is the perfect opportunity to enjoy musical entertainment, delicious Treat Street food, carnival rides and games, barns full of animals, and exhibits in a community-friendly environment and at affordable family prices!
 
Each day of the fair has some special promotion for visitors. Below is each day listed out:
Wednesday, August 8
Scholar Students Day
Free admission for Nevada County Honor Roll students until 5 pm (by invitation only from the Nevada County Superintendent of Schools)
Thursday, August 9
Community Day
Free coupon book with coupons for Treat Street, souvenirs and events (valid on Thursday, August 9 only)
Free admission for disabled persons (and a chaperone for those who require assistance) until 5 pm
Friday, August 10
Family Friday
Free parking until noon
One free carnival ride to first 500 guests
Ag Mechanics Auction. Be a buyer at the Ag Mechanics Auction and receive free admission.
Saturday, August 11
Military Appreciation Day
Free admission for active and retired military (who show ID) until 5 pm*
*For active and retired military members only and does not include family
Sunday, August 12
Sunday Funday
Free admission for children 12 and under until 5 pm
Junior Livestock Auction. Be a buyer at the Junior Livestock Auction and receive free admission.

Each evening the arena holds a large event, which require an event ticket, but always a guaranteed good time. Below is the arena schedule for this year:
Wednesday, August 8
Flying U Extreme Rodeo – 7 pm
$12 for adults, $8 for kids 12 and under
Produced by Cotton Rosser and the Flying U Rodeo Company, this action-packed rodeo includes cowboys, bull riding, Mutton Bustin, and local barrel racing.
Thursday, August 9 (NEW IN 2018)
All Star All American Pulling Series – 7 pm
$12 for adults, $8 for kids 12 and under
Ticket price includes a driver Meet and Greet in the Arena from 5:30 – 6:3o pm
The All Star All American Pulling Series features five pulling classes, including outlaw unlimited multi-engine tractors, super modified 4-wheel drive trucks, and street warrior local participation class.
Friday, August 10
All Star Monster Trucks, Stock and Modified Tough Truck Racing – 7 pm
$15 for adults, $8 for kids 12 and under
Ticket price includes a driver Meet and Greet in the Arena from 5:30 – 6:30 pm
The All Star Monster Truck Tour features four brand new Monster Trucks, as well as Stock and Modified Class Tough Truck Racing.

Saturday, August 11
All Star Monster Trucks, Stock and Modified Tough Truck Racing – 7 pm
$15 for adults, $8 for kids 12 and under

Sunday, August 12
Destruction Derby – 7 pm
$15 for adults, $8 for kids 12 and under
Hosted by KNCO radio, the derby features drivers putting their cars to the ultimate test by crashing, smashing, and ramming other vehicles while trying to keep their own vehicle running!
