National Night out August 7th 2018
Come celebrate national night out! All greater Grass Valley & Nevada City area residents & families are invited to join us at Dee Mautino Park (10609 Alta Street, Grass Valley) for this FREE, fun, and community building event! Come for the food, the activities, or just say hello to your police departments. National Night Out is an annual community building campaign that promotes police community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods a safer & better place to live. At this year’s event there will be live music, free food, free games, McGruff the Crime dog, Fire engine & police car exhibits, and a COLOR FUN run for all the kids!
The event will run from 6-7:30pm on August 7th 2018. In past years, Nevada City & Grass Valley held two separate National Night Out events, but in order to get the community more connected, they are combing them this year. The hope for the event is to grow the connection between the community and its police departments, as well as community members to each other. Last year’s event drew over 300 people. Since this year is combined they are expecting more and therefore planning to cook over 600 hot dogs this year! Free ice cream cones are also on the menu.
The participating agencies include Grass Valley police, Nevada City police, Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, California Highway Patrol, Nevada County Citizens for Safe parks and the Western Nevada County Recreation Services.
