We celebrated with an open house yesterday, Saturday, June 25, 2011.
New redwood front steps welcome you to a wide porch.
Our friend Bunny Cherman kvetched that the front door looked like it was floating above the porch.
Lowering the house seemed like an excessive correction. I found some used sky hooks at the surplus store and hoisetd the porch up a couple of inches. Looks a lot better doesn’t it? Thanks, Bunny!
Living room looking into the kitchen.
Kitchen looking back toward the front door.
New closets, bookshelves, and windows in the bedrooms.
One of many small details.
The retro bath with Neil Pohlman’s deft tile work.
The new bath.
The old gal is ready for occupancy. New central heating and air. Walking distance to down town Grass Valley. Three parking spaces. Barn/ garage/storage. Rent will be $1500 a month and includes a gardener.
